Get involved

Saving 22 is not something one organization does

It happens one conversation at a time, in ordinary rooms, with people who are willing to say the obvious thing out loud. Here is how to be one of those people.

01

Request a speaker

We will come to a post, a church hall, a senior center, a clinic waiting room, or a family group. The talk is plain, about 30 minutes, and there is no product and no pitch. Tell us the date and the audience in the form below.

Share the site

The most useful thing most people can do takes ten seconds. If you know a veteran or an older adult who has been told to live with it, send them the education library. Print the question list and hand it to someone at your next appointment.

For anyone with a phone

03

Volunteer

We need people who can sit with someone and explain a thing twice, people who can drive to an appointment, and people who will proofread a page for plain language. If you have been through it and can be calm about it, you are qualified.

For veterans, family members, and retirees

04

Put us in touch

If you work at a VA clinic, a Vet Center, an Area Agency on Aging, or a church that serves older veterans, we would like to know you. We will not ask for anything you cannot give, and we will not take your time for granted.

For providers and community organizations

About money, plainly

There is no donate button on this site, and that is deliberate. We are not raising money through this page, we sell no products, and we accept no payment from cannabis companies, dispensaries, clinics, or anybody else with something to sell you. What we need from you is not money — it is your time, and your willingness to pass the information on.

If you represent an organization that would like to partner on education, write to us and say what you have in mind. We will tell you honestly whether it fits.

One page you can hand to a veteran

This is the flyer we carry to outreaches. It asks four plain questions about the treatment you were prescribed, and it has our phone number on it, so whoever is holding it knows where to call.

The Veterans Project Saving 22 FL flyer: our gold emblem at the top, cannabis medicinal use icons, a column of questions for veterans about the treatment they were prescribed, and our phone number and contact details at the bottom.
Tap the flyer to open it full size — the print reads easiest zoomed in.

Share it with a veteran or a family who needs it. It takes ten seconds, and it may be the thing that starts the conversation.

It opens as a picture, so it saves to a phone's photos and forwards like any other photo. Print it for a post hall or a clinic waiting room if that is easier.

Where it goes

A post meeting, a church hall, a senior center, a clinic waiting room, or a text to one person who has been told to live with it.

What it asks for

Nothing. There is no product on it, nothing to buy, and no form to fill in. If somebody wants to talk, the phone number is there.

Want more than one page? The question checklist is printable too, and covers more ground.

Where the conversation actually happens

A post hall, a recording desk, a chapter table, a memorial wall. This is what the work looks like — plain talk in ordinary rooms, with nothing on the table for sale.

Veterans Project publishes general education. Nothing here is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a recommendation to start or stop any treatment, and nothing here replaces your own doctor, who knows your history and can examine you.

Tell us what you have in mind

Say which of the four things above you are writing about — a speaker request, a volunteer offer, a partnership, or a question — and a person will read it and get back to you.
